Ways to Give Back this giving Tuesday

Ironic isn’t it? That a day of giving is scheduled after so many days of mass consumption? If anyone wants to start the petition to GIVE FIRST, you can count on our signature ;) Anyway! If you’ve never celebrated or heard of #GivingTuesday, it is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

“Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday kicks off the” charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.” If you’re wondering how to get involved, here’s a few options:

1. Volunteer with a Local Organization

One of the most home-hitting ways to give back, literally, is to get involved volunteering in your own hometown. Whether you’re serving meals at a shelter, or mentoring kids at a Big Brother or Sister program, if each person can give back to the community they actually live in, the world would be a much more cooperative place.

2. Volunteer Your Services

If you' have a specific talent or skill that can be of service to those in need, set aside some time to give your services pro-bono. We know that your time is valuable and worth much, but so is giving back to those who may not have the resources otherwise.

3. Give

If you genuinely don’t have the time, or even know where to start, finding an organization to give a charitable donation to this holiday season is also a great way to take part in Giving Tuesday.

4. Share on Social Media

I know, that doesn’t sound like much, but highlighting #GivingTuesday on social media can raise questions and awareness for those who dont’ know what it is, and even encourage them to get involved, and donate their time.

We’d love to see how you’re Giving this #GivingTuesday! Don’t forget to use the hashtag on social media, and have a great holiday week.
